FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, is a national Catholic movement in response to the Church’s call for a New Evangelization.  So why do we bother to go to Ave Maria University, one of the most Catholic places in the world?!  An understandable question, but then again let’s look at what the call for the New Evangelization is.  Pope Pius VI called for the New Evangelization because there are many “culturally” Catholic who have forgotten the foundation of our faith, mission.  We are called into mission as Christ left us with the final words, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you and lo, I am with you until the end of the age,” (Matt.28:19-20).  This is a call for ALL Catholics.

Our mission hear at Ave Maria University is to help all our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to first develop that relationship with Jesus Christ and second, to understand how our lives have to be integrated completely with mission, ministering to others whether as a doctor, lawyer, political leader, parent, or even as a missionary on a college campus!
